Hence the name of our village "Paternoster" meaning "Our Father". Paternoster is situated about 150 km North of Cape Town on the R27 and 15 km from Vredenburg. The picturesque village is set in a beautiful bay with the architecture strongly influenced by the white cottage fishermen style. The local fishermen still enjoy their trade, launching their fleet of small craft from the beaches as the license regulations allow. A happy few hours can be spent greeting the boats as they land on the beach laden with fish of the season. For some, the best time is spent with the fishermen bartering for fish or crayfish
